Dr. P.J. Lavakare

Eminent Technocrat and an Educationist
Dr. Lavakare obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Rochester, N.Y. (USA), in 1963 during a Fulbright fellowship to USA. After two decades of Space Research at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bombay, he secured a Diploma in Systems Management from the Bombay University.

He later joined Ministry of Science and Technology, as an Advisor to Government of India and Planning Commission. During 1986-90, he served as the Secretary of the Science Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. He was the Executive Director of the U.S.

Educational Foundation in India, during 1992-99. During 2000-02, as an Executive Vice President, he set up the Manipal Foundation in Bangalore. He is presently a Member of the Board of Governors of Mody Institute of Technology & Science (MITS) University in Rajasthan. He is the founder member of the Education Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. (FICCI). He presently specializes in International Education and in Management of Higher Education.


Anil Bokil

Former Head, Spacecraft Integration Division, ISRO
Shri. A.A.Bokil has been associated with space technology and its applications for more than thirty five years. He was actively involved in country's satellite program right from the first Indian satellite Aryabhat. Over the years, in ISRO, he contributed significantly in the area of Assembly, Integration and Testing.

He headed Spacecraft Integration Division, leading a team of engineers entrusted to build many satellites. He was trained in European Space Agency and NASA during Spacelab build up. He led a team of engineers as the technical head of the delegation to Iran's maiden satellite building initiative. He organised and taught a multi-faculty teaching program

on Satellite Architecture for Master level students in Indian Institute of Science. Subsequent to his career in ISRO he was responsible for establishing satellite based direct audio broadcast as Head, Broadcast and Engineering in WorldSpace Pvt. Ltd. He also worked as Director, Business Development in Advanced Space Technologies and Services. Currently, he continues to contribute as Director, Satellite Systems in a private organisation. His other interests include teaching, music, theatre and literature.


Suresh Naik

Former Group Director, ISRO & Chairman, International Space Society
He was responsible for developing the fabrication and Test & Evaluation technologies for the first time in the country for the most important application equipments (called payloads) of the various satellites. He is also credited for the pioneering work in development and successful implementation of effective quality systems for these high tech equipments.

Another important achievement of his is, playing a leading role in establishing world class facilities for these activities right from scratch at ISRO Ahmedabad. He had an opportunity to work closely with Dr. Abdul Kalam, Prof Yash Pal, Dr. Kasturirangan and other eminent scientists. For his outstanding contributions, he has received many prestigious awards, some of which are: Merit award from Prof.

Satish Dhawan-then Chairman ISRO; Verman Award; NRIPO Bhushan Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and the Outstanding COEP- Alumni Award.


Triveni Mathur

With 24 years of experience in academics and journalism, Triveni is a Ph.D in Communication and Journalism from the University of Pune. She is on the Board of Studies of leading institutions designing and vetting curriculum for media, inter-disciplinary studies and communication skills.

She designs Quality Improvement Systems for School Governance and develops modules for "train the trainer" programs for teachers at higher education level. She mentors and guides students on research projects at higher education level for Indian and foreign universities (UK & USA). She is also a documentary script writer and voice-over artiste.

Ms. Deepa Mathur has more than 15 years in the corporate finance world with skills in the varied aspects of banking, investors, legal, strategic planning, mergers & acquisitions including overseas funding, structuring of deals and other allied activities. She is a member of an Education Trust -Association for Advancement of Education in India (AAEI) for starting schools in the rural areas.

The Trust has completed its first project at Village Bhokar (near Ahmednagar) wherein the school is up & running successfully and are now onto their next project at Pachod near Aurangabad.
