Charu Mathur
Founder & Chief Managing Trustee

Charu Mathur is an educationist, Fulbright Fellow & NASA Educator. She has more than 25 years of teaching experience, having taught Science & Math to students of Secondary classes of premier schools in Mussoorie, Dehradun, Mumbai & Pune. She is an alumnus of International Leaders in Education Program, conducted by the ECA (Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs), USA & International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX). Well versed in contemporary pedagogies for teaching and learning, she has initiated the development of Critical thinking among students across the city. As the chief managing trustee and administrator of Socrates Foundation, Charu has been instrumental in conceptualizing, designing and implementing innovative learning modules to bring about a transformative change in teaching methodologies across classrooms.


Alka Mathur
Co-Founder & Executive Trustee

Alka Mathur is a postgraduate from Allahabad University, has dedicated her career to the noble profession of teaching. She has taught Sanskrit and Vedanta to young scholars at Adi Guru Shankaracharya Math at Nasik, thus keeping the upcoming young religious leaders abreast of the old Indian culture and helping them spread the message of peace, love and harmony. She is also on the Governing body of 'Future and Light for Young', a non-profit organization working in the area of child education in India, which provides social and financial infrastructure to enable meritorious children from weaker financial background to achieve the career of their dreams. She has been a past president of Rotary Club of Nasik Grapecity , and has been an active member of the Rotary for a number of years.


Ankur Mathur
Co-Founder & Executive Trustee

A major in Chemical Engineering, Ankur graduated from Pune University in 2012. Post his graduation he co-founded the Socrates Foundation and as the Founding Trustee, has been crucial in chalking out the strategy to quickly operationalize the Foundation from the drawing board stages. Highly keen on travel, music, reading and sports, Ankur is a firm believer in the power of the youth, and has been instrumental in channelizing the ability of the youth in taking up social issues plaguing the society. An active member of a number of youth societies, he has founded and led a university wide student organization working for the cause of environmental protection. His socio-entrepreneurial efforts have won him the British Council International Climate Championship in 2010.

After completing his graduation in 2012, Ankur worked with Apollo Tyres, India as a Consultant (Sales & Marketing). In 2014, he went to Imperial College Business School, London on a Chevening (UK Government) Scholarship for doing M.Sc Management, specializing in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which he successfully completed in Sept 2015.
